More than P5 million in prizes will be staked in tomorrow’s fourth edition of the Pasay ‘The Travel City’ Racing Festival at the MetroTurf Racing Complex in Malvar-Tanauan, Batangas.
Four major Cup races and nine Trophy Races will be disputed in the annual racingfest organized by the Metro Manila Turf Club in cooperation with Pasay City Mayor Tony Calixto showcasing the City of Pasay as the premiere “Gateway to the Philippines.”
“The year’s last major racingfest will definitely be the most exciting as we present the 4th Pasay ‘The Travel City’ Racing Festival. We are offering lots of prizes and excitement in all the 13 races that will be disputed this Sunday.
We are inviting you to join us once again as Metro Manila Turf Club gives you another exhilarating and surprise-filled Sunday racing!” said MMTC chaiman and president Norberto Quisumbing Jr.
The 4th Pasay ‘The Travel City Cup’, which offers a whopping total prize of P700,000 will be contested by three exciting imported runners namely: Atomicseventynine – Rodeo Fernandez 55.5; Backdoor Cover – Jonathan Hernandez 52; and She’s Incredible – AP Asuncion 52.
The winner in the 1,600-meter race will receive the top prize of R420,000 while the runnerup and the third placers get P157,500 and P87,500, respectively.
On the other hand, four top 2-year-olds will vie for the total of another P700,000 at stake in the 4th Pasay Mayor Tony Calixto Cup which will be disputed over the 1,400-meter distance.
PAGCOR is also sponsoring the 3rd Former Pasay Mayor Eduardo ‘Duay’ Calixto Memorial Cup that has a total prize of P500,000. The winner of the 1,400-meter race will be going home with the top prize of P300,000.
