Derrick Pumaren will be taking on a new role as general manager of the Centro Escolar University (CEU) Scorpions.
This was revealed no less by school officials to the Manila Bulletin Sports Online.
Pumaren had resigned as head coach of the University of the East Warriors last November 2017.
He is best known for steering UE to the final four in UAAP Season 77. The Warriors lost a 51-49 decision to National University, the eventual champions.
From there, Pumaren was never able to replicate that feat. He left UE compiling a 21-35 win-loss record.
Pumaren now embarks on a new challenge as he teams up with CEU assistant GM Jun Tiongco. They will try to bolster the basketball program of the CEU Scorpions.
