This early, Creamline is collecting key building blocks for a potential dynasty in the Premier Volleyball League.
Through a guessing game contest they posted on their official Facebook account yesterday, the Cool Smashers have already secured the services of former La Salle standouts Michelle Gumabao and Melissa Gohing, leaving no stone unturned in their redemption drive.
The addition of the 5-foot-10 Gumabao, a two-time UAAP Best Blocker awardee, and the diminutive Gohing, a three-time PVL Best Libero, should be a welcome development for Creamline which already has superstar Alyssa Valdez and crafty playmaker Jia Morado in its fold.
With Fil-Japanese Risa Sato also joining the solid crew which will be handled by Thai mentor Tai Bundit, the Cool Smashers are prime up to make a deep run in the season-opening Reinforced Conference tentatively set in April after finishing third overall – twice – in their maiden campaign last season.
San Beda star Chesca Racraquin, along with former Adamson star Pau Soriano and ex-Far Eastern University standout Rosemarie Vargas, is also set for another tour of duty, giving Creamline enough firepower to go up against powerhouse teams BaliPure and Pocari Sweat.
Gumabao, 25, who previously suited up for Cocolife in rival league Philippine Superliga (PSL), is tipped to give the Cool Smashers another strong presence at the net while also delivering offensive goods as an underrated opposite hitter.
