A NATIONAL male pageant dubbed Mr. Philippines 2018 which aims to help combat drug addiction in the country has been launched in Quezon City.
At the launch of the Mr. Philippines at a hotel in Quezon City, Marieta G. Ortega, executive producer of the new male pageant, said that contest will serve as platform for all young men to be aware of the dangers of illegal drugs.
“The contest also aims to promote healthy lifestyle among men and urge them to serve as catalyst for change in society,” said Ortega.
Also joining the press launch were Mr. Philippines President/CEO Francisco Z. Blanco Jr.; and Mr. Philippines Vice President Reynaldo Jun Cortez Fradejas.
Ortega said that the male pageant also prides itself as a venue that focuses on human development, healthy body and good character.
“Our contest will become a platform to resolve social, cultural and sexual differences, promote the welfare of the Filipino youth in discovering their talent, and foster camaraderie and peace among men,” Ortega added.
Preparations are on-going for the staging of the inaugural Mr. Philippines 2018 pageant. Other details of the new male contest will be announced later.
The grand coronation night of the Mr. Philippines 2018 contest will be held on June 23.
