President Duterte said yesterday that the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front is fighting for nothing and would never prevail against the government.
Duterte, in a speech in Compostela Valley, said he tried to talk to the NPA but said they became arrogant and even proposed a coalition government, something which he cannot grant them.
“We used to be friends. Nung kaibigan tayo, wala akong pagkulang sa inyo. I wanted to talk to you but the arrogance of being there with a gun – you think that you are God,” Duterte said. “Kayo mag-rebolusyon, 50 goddamn years.
Nakikinig pa ako kay Sison noon. Walang nangyari hanggang ngayon,” he added.
Duterte also accepted the challenge of the communist rebels who have expressed willingness to fight the government for another half-a-century. “Magyabang, magsabi pa, ready for another 50 years. P***… Ako ang takutin mo. May Army ako, may Air Force, may Navy, may CAFGU pa, may Police, may Boy Scout pa akong reserba,” he said.
“Tapos ako ang takutin n’yo, buang… Ano bang gusto ninyo? Hindi naman kayo manalo,” he added.
