World champion Jerwin Ancajas will look into the early days of Manny Pacquiao when he is warmly welcomed by Top Rank chief Bob Arum this Friday at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.
“He will take a tour of the Wild Card,” said Top Rank’s long-time publicist Lee Samuels.
Ancajas, who will make his US debut under Bob Arum’s Top Rank on Feb. 3 in Corpus Christi, Texas, flies to Los Angeles tomorrow morning.
Meantime, world flyweight champion Donnie Nietes is back at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood getting ready for his mandatory defense against Juan Carlos Reveco of Argentina.
Nietes and Reveco are set to square off on Feb. 24 at the Forum in Inglewood, California, on a show that will be shown by HBO.
Nietes arrived in the US over the weekend and has reported for gym duties joined by trainers Edito and Edmond Villamor.
In other development, US-Based Mercito Gesta will be in for a rough night when he attempts to wrest the World Boxing Association lightweight crown from Venezuelan Jorge Linares this Saturday night (Sunday morning in Manila) at the Forum in Los Angeles.
Gesta, originally from Cebu, has been training diligently and will be the first Filipino fighter to vie for a world crown this year.
