(The Arena, San Juan City)
4:00 p.m. – Smart vs Petron
7:00 p.m. – Sta. Lucia vs Cocolife
Powerhouse Petron is favored to stretch its good start and stay ahead of the pack against newcomer Smart as the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix action resumes today at The Arena in San Juan City.
Game time is at 4 p.m., with the fast-starting Blaze Spikers gunning for their third straight victory at the expense of a Giga Hitters side aiming to recover from a crushing defeat on its last Tuesday.
Cuban import Gyselle Silva made heads turn the last time out as she fired 32 kills in her personal league debut, but still could not get a strong lift from her local teammates, leading to Smart’s straight-sets loss to new-look Cocolife.
The Giga Hitters could also get another big boost if and when Serbian ace Sanja Trivunovic arrives in time, another potent weapon which they can use against the Blaze Spikers’ touted trio of Lindsay Stalzer, Hillary Hurley and Japanese libero Yuri Fukuda.
Also expected to gain a fair share of the spotlight is the 7 p.m. encounter between Cocolife and Sta. Lucia, both eager to start its own winning streak and keep themselves hot on the heels of early pacesetters.
The Asset Managers, after dropping their first two matches, finally showed glimpses of what they’re capable of against the Giga Hitters. But Serbian mentor Moro Branislav is far from pleased.
