Miguel Tabuena will have little rest after his historic victory in the 100th edition of the Philippine Open.
That’s because Tabuena is scheduled to compete in this week’s Hero Indian Open set March 8 to 11in New Delhi, India.
The 23-year-old Tabuena, who won Asia’s oldest Open championship backed by Solaire Resort and Casino, defeated Prom Meesawat of Thailand last Saturday in a playoff at The Country Club.
The title was Tabuena’s second Philippine Open in his career as he captured the same trophy back in 2015, and took home the winner’s check of $108,000, or about P5.6 million from a record $600,000 total pot.
“This gives me good confidence for the Indian Open, which is a European Tour event,” said Tabuena, who is scheduled to leave for New Delhi tomorrow in time for the tournament.
