ACTOR Polo Ravales has revealed that he has been courted by gays and even received indecent proposals from them.
But Ravales, who is one of the sexiest actors in the country, said that he would turn them down politely. He would just offer his friendship and nothing else.
“Yes! Pero sabi ko let’s be friends. Mas maganda na maging magkaibigan na lang tayo at least may respeto ka sa akin, may respeto ako sayo kung maging magkaibigan tayo,” said Ravales during an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on ABS CBN.
When asked why he would reject gay proposals, Ravales said: “Minsan kasi nakakatakot eh. ‘Yung mga offers nila, may mga ano….indecent proposals.”
“Hindi ko pa sya na-experience. Hindi pa. Kapag sinabi nyang date tayo, let’s be friends,” said Ravales.
Ravales said that he is in a relationship with Paulyn Quiza whom he describes as his “unexpected love.”
“Nagkakilala kami Dec. 26, Dec. 25 parang I wasn’t really feeling happy. Parang may kulang.
“Nung time na ‘yun, parang sinasabi ko na I’m single so I can date whoever. Umalis ako, kasama ko ‘yung friend ko na gay. Gumimik kami tapos nagku-kwentuhan kami.
“Sabi ko parang sawa na yata akong mag-date. Sawa na ako to be single. Gusto ko meron na talaga akong single path.
Parang ganun.
“Tapos Dec. 26, doon ko s’ya nakilala. Noong first time ko syang na-meet, iba na ‘yung feeling. Parang ang tagal ko na syang kilala. We click right there and then. Tutoo pala ‘yun,” Ravales recalled.
Ravales has just wrapped-up the popular Kapamilya teleserye “La Luna Sangre.” He was able to buy a car from his earnings from the television series which starred Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
But there was a time when Ravales almost quit show business.
“For two years wala akong work nun. Dumating na ako sa point na aalis na ako nun pupunta na ako sa ibang bansa. Kasi I thought wala na ‘yung showbiz para sa akin. Hindi na ako para dito.
“What’s worse is nung nawala ako sa showbiz ng two years, naaksidente ako. I had a slip disc. Naoperahan ako sa likod. As in nawalan ako ng money.”
Ravales currently stars in the movie “My Amnesia Love” with Paolo Ballesteros and Yam Concepcion.
“Gay ako dito. Partner kami ni Paolo Ballesteros. Magkakaroon si Paolo ng amnesia at makakalimutan n’ya ako. Nung nagka-amnesia sya, naging lalaki sya. Nung naging lalaki sya, na-meet nya si Yam Concepcion,” Ravales said.
