TALENT manager Arnold Vegafria said that he is rooting for former Miss World Philippines Catriona Gray who is competing in the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 beauty pageant on March 18.
“I want to! I hope they will give me free tickets!” said Vegafria when asked if he will watch the grand coronation of the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 beauty contest at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
The Miss World Philippines and the Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageants are rival contests in the country.
Gray, 24, won Miss World Philippines in 2016. She later represented the country in the Miss World beauty contest held in the US where she finished in Top 5.
The Australian-Filipino beauty queen won during the term of Cory Quirino, then national director for Miss World Philippines.
In January 2017, Quirino shocked pageant fans when she let go of the Philippine franchise for Miss World.
Despite the change in the leadership of Miss World Philippines, Gray showed her support to Vegafria by attending some of the pageant’s events.
Vegafria said that he hopes Gray will be the next Miss Universe.
“I wanna see her competing in another pageant. I’m supporting her! I hope she’ll make it.
“I’m thinking about our country. If you think she’s a good representative for Miss Universe, why not?
“Think about your country, your honor to the country. I don’t want to be selfish. That’s why when one of my candidates resigned, and she wants to join Bb. Pilipinas, I told her if that’s really your dream, to have a crown, na hindi mo nakuha sa amin, then you may try it sa other organization and bring honor to the country. That’s why I cannot be selfish.
“So I hope Catriona will make it, di ba? Malay mo she will be the next Miss Universe!” said Vegafria.
