Criminal complaints have been filed yesterday before the Department of Justice (DoJ) against five staff members of the Supreme Court (SC) in connection with the alleged anomalous hiring of an over-paid information technology (IT) consultant and for sitting on the claims of retired magistrates.
Lawyer Lorenzo Gadon, who filed the impeachment complaint against SC Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, filed two separate complaint-affidavits before the DoJ.
One of the complaints accused SC En Banc Clerk of Court Anna-Li Papa-Gombio and Court Attorney IV Jocelyn Fabian of the Office of the Chief Justice of violating Republic Act (RA) 3019, also known as the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, for having sat on the claims of retired magistrates.
While, the other complaint alleged that Sereno’s staff members, staff head Ma. Lourdes Oliveros and Attorney IV Michael Ocampo, violated RA 3019 and RA 9184 (the Government Procurement Reform Act) in the alleged anomalous hiring of former SC IT consultant Helen Perez-Macasaet who is also a respondent of the case.
