At least 13 drug suspects who allegedly resisted arrest were shot dead by police in simultaneous operations yesterday in Bulacan province.
According to Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat Jr., provincial director of the Bulacan Provincial Police Office (PPO), the “province-wide, simultaneous operations on illegal drugs” which started Friday also resulted to the arrest of 58 drug suspects.
Caramat said cops have conducted a total of 49 operations, where 12 of it resulted to armed encounters including in the towns of Bocaue, Pandi, Sta. Maria, Plaridel, Pulilan, Baliwag, San Rafael and cities of Malolos and San Jose del Monte.
Police also seized a total of 216 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a brick and 26 plastic sachets of suspected marijuana, and around 15 assorted guns and ammunition.
The seized drugs have an estimated value of R488,439 while identities of those killed have yet to be released by the Bulacan police.
It is not the first time that a number of drug suspects were shot dead by police in Bulacan in separate police operations in just 24-hours.
It can be recalled that a total of 32 drug suspects had been killed during separate police operations from evening of Aug. 14, 2017 to early morning the following day also in Bulacan.
It was regarded as the bloodiest day of President Duterte’s war on drugs, while recording the most number of drug suspects killed in one day.
The recent Bulacan operations occurred exactly on the first day of Police Director General Oscar Albayalde as chief of the PNP.
