Hi Ms. Rica,
Thank you po,

Hi Tampon User,
I’ll address your first question muna – do you need to take off your tampon after urinating? The simple answer is “No.” If you want to change it after, then it’s your choice. Urine is considered relatively sterile and poses little threat in terms of getting an infection from it.
Kung ikaw ay healthy, your urine will contain very little bacteria or no bacteria at all na hindi nakakacause ng infection. However, kung ikaw ay may infection in your bladder or urethra, the bacteria may transfer to your genitals and may cause you urinary tract infection.
Otherwise, changing tampons after peeing would be out of comfort.
Now, let’s look at other scenarios:
1. If the string of your tampon comes in contact with your feces (or No. 2) at napunta ito sa iyong vagina, then mas malaki ang chance na magkaroon ka ng genital bacterial infection.
2. If you leave your tampon in there for a long time, or mas matagal sa eight hours, then mayroon ka ring risk or chance na magkaroon ng seryoso at life-threathening na bacterial infection at magkaroon ng toxic shock syndrome.
To address your second question: Do you need to take it out if you will have sexual intercourse? Then the straightforward answer is “Yes.” It is important to take it out first before inserting anything else in your vagina.
This can be dangerous and fatal.
To summarize, you do not need to change your tampon after peeing, but you do need to change it if you will insert something else in your vagina.
If you have more questions, I would suggest that you go to a medical doctor. A medical practitioner would be the best person to answer your reproductive health concerns, and check you for infections.
Mas makakatulong din sila to keep your sex life healthy. #takeitfromthesexymind
