LUKA-LUKA HAN MUNA: For a change, Kim Chiu departs from crying scenes and all that drama as she stars in what should be her most playful role to date, “Da One That Ghost Away.”
The 28-year old actress said it’s such a relief to be part of a comedy film where nothing is sacred. The film, directed by master comedy director Tony Reyes, served as Kim’s comic relief from all those heavy scenes in her most recent TV series, “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin.”
“Feel ko lang gumawa ng ganitong lighthearted project para naman makapagluka-lukahan ako,” she told us during the film’s media launch.
Kim is known for her easygoing ways off camera, which makes her a shoo-in for comic roles. However, she made her mark as a drama actress. Her last big screen outing, courtesy of horror film “The Ghost Bride,” was shown in November 2017. It was a monster hit.

BARKADA FILM: “DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away” is touted as this summer’s ultimate adventure-horror-comedy movie for the whole barkada.
DOGTA revolves around paranormal expert wannabe Carmel (Kim Chui) who teams up with her best friend Jeje (Ryan Bang) in forming a squad of ghost busters with their misfit friends to save the house of her grandmother from being sequestered. Carmel meets a rich, dashing architect who hires her and her squad to exorcize his house of malevolent ghosts.
In the process, Carmel faces the horror of a truth long hidden from her.

PBB ALUMNI ALL: DOTGA marks Kim’s first major collaboration with “Pinoy Big Brother” alumni Ryan Bang, theater and teen stars May May Entrata and Edward Barber.
It will be recalled that Kim herself is an alumna of PBB.
Completing the ultimate laugh team of DOTGA are Enzo Pineda, Lassy Marquez, Moi Bien, Matet de Leon, Cai Cortez, Chocoleit, Pepe Herrera, Marissa Delgado, and Odette Khan.
“DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away” is now showing in all cinemas nationwide.
