Director Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, head of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), has ordered the Caloocan City police to put the three police brothers in a viral video under restrictive custody as a string of both criminal and administrative charges were slapped against them.
Cascolan said he had already ordered the filing of administrative charges against the three policemen identified as PO3 Ralph Soriano, PO1 Rendel Soriano and PO1 Reniel Soriano.
“My priority program in Morale and Welfare is religiously being implemented but not to compromise as well the discipline and internal cleansing of the ranks and file of NCRPO,” said Cascolan.
In a video that went viral on Facebook, the three cops were seen wearing civilian clothes and were confronting a motorist who earlier figured in a minor vehicular accident.
Based on the PNP report, the Soriano brothers were already slapped with charges of grave threat, oral defamation and alarm and scandal before the Caloocan City Prosecutors Office.
But a separate case of violation of the Omnibus Election Code was filed against the three after they were reportedly seen carrying handguns.
“Further investigation is still being conducted to determine the other possible violations they committed,” said Cascolan.
The official said that the incident should serve as a constant reminder to every policeman to behave and act professionally.
If found guilty, the three cops would be facing prison terms on criminal charges and may also be dismiss from the service if they were found guilty on administrative charges that would be leveled against them.
