BUTUAN CITY – The Community Support program (CSP) implemented by the Army’s 66th Infantry Battalion (66th IB) eked another significant milestone over the weekend with the capitulation of at least 194 members of the Communist Party of the Philippine’s (CPP) Underground Mass Organization (UGMO) in Barangay Tagugpo, Pantukan, Compostela Valley.
Capt. Jerry S. Lamosao, public affairs chief of the 10th Infantry Division, said the mass surrender is testament to the weakening hold of the New People’s Army (NPA) among simple folks who have since realized the government’s utmost sincerity in pursuing peace in and around the country.
