7:30 p.m. – Ceres vs Yangon United
Ceres-Negros begins the step in its quest to repeat as ASEAN zonal champion tonight when it takes on Myanmar’s Yangon United in the first leg of their semifinal leg in the AFC Cup at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
Despite being relegated to second place in Group F and the best second placer among the Southeast Asian teams in the competition after a 2-0 defeat to Home United two weeks ago, the Busmen are eager to showcase their best form and gain an upperhand against Yangon in the 7:30 p.m. match.
Busmen coach Risto Vidakovic is hoping to see his talent-laden roster to deliver in front of the home fans in the City of Smiles.
“I know it’s not easy to repeat what we’ve done last year, so that’s why I’m not expecting anything from my players just to give everything they can, to fight for each other and for the team,” Vidakovic said in yesterday’s pre-match press conference.
