Pocari Sweat-Air Force recovered from a slow start before turning back Banko-Perlas, 15-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-22, yesterday in the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the People’s Gym in Tuguegarao City.
Still fresh from a 25-20, 25-19, 25-22 loss to the PayMaya High Flyers two days ago, the Lady Warriors needed some time before gaining steam to pick up their first win in the conference.
Guest player Madeline Palmer paced Pocari with 16 points including 14 kills, while skipper Myla Pablo and foreign reinforcement Arielle Love added 15 points apiece.
Although known for their offensive prowess, the Lady Warriors turned to their solid defense and sharp serves to topple the Perlas Spikers.
Pocari managed 11 blocks and 11 service aces compared to BanKo-Perlas’ five and six, respectively.
Also bouncing back from Saturday’s loss was Creamline, which toppled PayMaya, 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.
Thai reinforcement Kuttika Kaewpin and Alyssa Valdez led with 17 and 12 points, respectively, for the Cool Smashers, whose victory tied them with the High Flyers at the helm with identical 2-1 cards.
