Pocari Sweat-Air Force tries to extend its winning run to three games when it collides with PetroGazz today in the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
A victory for the Lady Jet Spikers in their 4 p.m. duel with the Angels would hike their 3-2 win-loss record and disentangle from a three-way tie for the second spot.
Coming off back-to-back four-set wins against Iriga-Navy and BaliPure-National University the past week, Pocari is eager to keep its winning run going with the dynamic tandem of guest player Arielle Love and top local hitter Myla Pablo in front of their attack.
While Love is rock-solid on the defensive end, Pablo continues to dazzle their rivals with her booming spikes.
Also expected to deliver for Pocari is import Madeline Palmer who is known for her big serves.
The Pocari-PetroGazz duel is expected to draw lots of excitement since PetroGazz is also on a roll, having won its last two matches over BanKo-Perlas and Iriga-Navy.
Credit to PetroGazz’s resurgence to Olena Lymareva-Flink.
Lymareva-Flink, who replaced the injured Kadi Kullerkann, debuted for the Angels with 16 points on 12 kills and four aces.
She will have Anastasiia Trach, Cherry Nunag, Ranya Musa and skipper Paneng Mercado to count for support.
In the other match, Tacloban and Iriga-Navy clash at 6:30 p.m. with both teams aiming to end their losing runs.
The Fighting Warays dropped to a share for fifth to sixth places with PetroGazz at 2-3 after dropping their last two games whole the Lady Oragons lost their last three matches after an impressive opening game win.
