Expect moderate to heavy rainfall over the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas today as a low-pressure area is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration estimated the location of the LPA at 715 kilometers east of Surigao City in Surigao del Norte before noon yesterday.
It may still intensify into a tropical depression within 24 hours and will be given the local name “Domeng,” PAGASA weather specialist Sheilla Reyes said.
Domeng will be the first tropical cyclone to form inside the country’s area of responsibility this June.
PAGASA said that one to two tropical cyclones may affect the country this month, with a possibility of making landfall over Northern or Central Luzon.
