A police officer and a junk shop owner were wounded in the latest attack by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Caloocan City, Saturday morning.
Police identified the victims as PO2 Allan Palaming, 42, assigned to Manila Police District, and Rex Librando, 38, both residents of Barangay 120, Caloocan.
Initial investigation showed that Palaming was standing in front of Librando’s junk shop on Rizal Avenue when two men on board a motorcycle appeared around 9 a.m.
The back rider alighted and tried to get Palaming’s firearm. However, the cop resisted, prompting the suspect to shoot him in the shoulder and back.
Librando, who was inside his junk shop, was hit by a stray bullet in the body.
The suspects sped off while the victims were brought to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center where they are now recuperating. (Kate Javier)
