ANYTHING – Writer-director Joey Reyes first heard the expression “walwal” from his students at La Salle. It meant “walang pakialam” – anything goes, be it sex or alcohol or whatever. Joey’s long ago wanted to do something like “Pare Ko,” circa the ‘90s, about young people facing the adult world. So why not “Walwal,” which Regal produced.
Joey’s at his best when tackling youth-oriented and family-oriented films. Intimate cinema so-called.

SHOWBIZ ROOTS – Four millennials topbill “Walwal,” Kiko Estrada, Elmo Magalona, Donny Pangilinan, and Jerome Ponce.
All four young actors have showbiz roots.
Kiko’s parents are Gary Estrada (also former Quezon provincial board member) and Cheska Diaz. His paternal granddad was George Estregan and grandma is Agnes Moran (Premiere starlet). Maternal grandpa was Paquito Diaz, FPJ’s favorite villain.
Elmo’s parents: the late Francis Magalona and Pia Arroyo. Paternal grandparents were the most loved loveteam (on and offcam) of Philippine cinema, Tita Duran and Pancho Magalona.
Donny’s parents are Maricel Laxa (also author of children’s books) and TV host-motivational lecturer Anthony Pangilinan. Maternal grandparents are Imelda Ilanan and former action star Tony Ferrer. On his father’s side are siblings Sen. Kiko (husband of Sharon Cuneta) and Angeli (wife of Gary Valenciano).
Jerome’s father is Jessie Delgado, who briefly appeared in action flicks.
