7 p.m. – Manila vs Cebu City
9 p.m. – Pasay City vs Bacoor City
The Manila Stars, one of the tournament favorites, seek to add more misery on the reeling Cebu City Sharks as they square off tonight in the resumption of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Anta Datu Cup action at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Tip off is at 7 p.m., with the Stars determined to come up with a strong follow-up to an 89-84 win over the Valenzuela Classic last July 11 and hand the Sharks their fourth straight loss.
Versatile forward Aris Dionisio and scoring guard Chris Bitoon should be at the forefront of Manila’s potent attack, with former pros Roger Yap, Reil Cervantes and ex-Arellano wingman Adrian Celada providing strong support.
The Sharks, the only squad which has yet to win in the South Division, are pinning their hopes on former pros Jondan Salvador, Cesar Catli and Patrick Cabahug.
Meanwhile, host Pasay City Voyagers aim to get back on track as they duke it out with the Bacoor City Strikers in the 9 p.m. main header.
The Voyagers intend to redeem themselves infront of their home crowd after suffering a numbing 89-66 defeat to the North Division leader San Juan Knights nearly two weeks ago.
The Strikers, sporting a 1-2 card just like the Voyagers, are motivated to stop a two-game bleeding after failing to display enough composure, leading to a pair of losses by the slimmest of margins, the last a 77-76 loss to Bulacan Kuyas right on their home floor last July 12.
