The southwest monsoon or “habagat” will continue to prevail across the country in the next few days, particularly affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said Palawan, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, southern part of Quezon, Albay, and Sorsogon will experience cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate rains becoming heavy during thunderstorms. PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza said a low pressure area was spotted at 1,495 kilometers east of Northern Luzon yesterday morning. However, the weather disturbance will have no effect over any part of the country. Isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon are expected over Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Bulacan, Rizal, and the rest of Quezon. The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
