SOME road portions in the metropolis will be closed over the weekend due to rehabilitation works, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said yesterday.
After securing a clearance from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the agency announced that weekend repairs will resume in three sections of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) – one on A.H. Lacson Avenue and one on Batasan Road.
According to DPWH-NCR Director Melvin Navarro, road works will be undertaken on the southbound directions of EDSA from in front of Francesca Tower to after Scout Borromeo, third lane from the center island and from before P. Tuazon Street, first lane from the center island; and at the northbound direction before North Avenue, sixth lane from the center island.
The northbound directions of A. H. Lacson Avenue, from corner Aragon Street and corner P. Florentino Street; and Batasan Road, from before Payatas Road, second lane will also be repaired, Navarro added.
The road repair activities will be carried out from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, DPWH said.
Motorists are advised to use possible alternate routes due to traffic slowdown in the affected areas. (Betheena Kae Unite)
