MALACAÑANG said yesterday that extending martial law in Mindanao is now an option following the bombing in Sultan Kudarat the other day in which two persons were killed while 34 others were injured.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said that the bombing is not a good sign as it put several lives in danger.
“’Yung mga signs na ganito hindi maganda yan e. Lives in danger na lang. Piyesta, pasasabugan lang?” he said.
Medialdea said that they will observe developments before deciding on whether or not to recommend the extension of martial law.
“Not necessarily recommend but tignan natin as it goes,” he said. “It’s an option but nandiyan ‘yun. We’re trying to make it as easy as possible. But kung ganito pa rin ang nangyari, anong gagawin natin? Upo lang tayo diyan?” he added. (Argyll Cyrus B. Geducos)
