After much speculation, Billy Crawford finally broke his silence over his absence from the ABS-CBN noontime show “It’s Showtime.”
In an appearance on “Magandang Buhay” over the weekend, Crawford made clear he was not fired from the show, maintaining he is simply “on leave.”
“Para I can concentrate with Coleen (Garcia, his wife), my marriage, the wedding planning, after the wedding nagpagawa naman ng bahay. So instead naman na magpaasa pa ako na ‘oo, babalik ako, babalik ako,’ I just took time off na lang,” he explained.
Crawford is thankful that ABSCBN management agreed to his request as it allowed him to “concentrate and to focus on myself, my marriage, and my music.”
“So finally after 9 years natapos ko na ang album ko. It’s part of my life, my music. It’s part of my passion. So hindi ko puwedeng madaliin, at hindi ko puwedeng basta-basta gawin lang din. And ‘yung inspiration din coming from Coleen is there. Lahat it’s all part of the plan,” said Crawford.
But will he be returning to “It’s Showtime?”
Crawford assured: “I’m sure, yes. Pero I’m not sure kung kailan or what. Kasi hindi ko rin alam, kasi I really do want to start a family as well. Ang hirap, I want to be there. I want to be a husband to my wife, I want to be a father to my kids.”
