Already out of the Final Four race, College of St. Benilde will try to salvage some measure of pride as it tries to finish its elimination round campaign by winning its last two games including its duel with Jose Rizal today in the 94th NCAA basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
The Blazers succumbed to CJ Perez and the Lyceum of the Philippines University, 64-77, Thursday that sent them reeling to their eighth defeat against eight wins and out of Final Four competition.
It was a heartbreaking campaign for CSB as it started its first-round campaign at joint fourth with Letran on 6-3 (win-loss) record before dropping five of their next seven assignments to kiss its Final Four chances goodbye.
Now CSB will just try to do the next best thing, finish their campaign on a bright note. It plays JRU, which has a 3-14 card, at 2 p.m. and then Letran next week.
Meanwhile, Arellano U (5-11) and Mapua (5-12) collide in another non-bearing outing at 4 p.m.
