Tagum City – The five-day Philippine Sports Commission-Philippine Sports Institute (PSC-PSI) Grassroots Coaching Certification Program gets underway today at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex here.
PSC Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez said that coaches’ education is vital in upgrading the standards and raising the level of efficiency of coaches and competitiveness of athletes in the grassroots level.
“If the coaches improve, the athletes will also improve,” he said during a recent press conference.
PSC consultant Prof. Henry Daut, said the Grassroots Coaching Certification Program is a multi-level (Levels I, II, III) course for elementary, secondary and tertiary coaches.
