HEART Evangelista is back months after losing her twins looking none the worse for wear. If anything, she looks more radiant than ever.
She was appreciative when we mentioned this to her, admitting it took a lot of work.
“I cried buckets, I didn’t think I would recover,” she divulged.
But bounce back she did.
“Well, I guess it’s all about acceptance,” she said.
The 33-year-old is not in a hurry to get pregnant anew, noting “it will happen when it happens.”
“I don’t want to frustrate myself,” she added.
And what about her husband, Chiz Escudero?
“We share the same belief,” Heart retorted.
In the meantime, Heart keeps herself busy. Her latest project is a partnership with fashion house, Kamiseta.
“We are using my paintings for a new clothing line,” Heart related rather excitedly.
“I’ve long wanted to do this. I was actually already looking for partners when Kamiseta came in asking if I was open to collaboration.”
Considered among more fashion-conscious celebrities, Heart made clear she is not exactly about fashion for fashion’s sake.
“I admit I like high-end stuff but I also appreciate affordable brands of excellent make,” she said, explaining she’s now more astute where it concerns money.
“At this point in my life, I’m more sensible. I’m not going to splurge thousands for an item that I don’t need,” she said.
Afar cry from when she was younger?
“Oh, yes. I admit I was a spendthrift then, especially when I started earning my own money but I learned a lot since.”
This ties up nicely with her partnership with Kamiseta.
“The brand is all about quality,” attested Heart. “I know. Collaborating with them was an eye opener. It was a continuous back and forth, real hard work.”
“But the best thing about them is that they keep their stuff affordable. As good as they are, they are also quite reasonably-priced.”
Meanwhile, when asked if she will be returning to TV soon, Heart said, “I’m thinking next year. I want to focus on my work with Kamiseta first. I don’t want to be swamped.”
How about movies?
“It’s the same thing. I’d rather wait till next year. Let’s see what happens then,” she said.
But what about her supposed Hollywood audition?
“Oh, it was for ‘Crazy Rich Asians.’ That was a long time ago. I didn’t get the part but I gained a friend in Kevin Kwan.”
Kevin wrote “Crazy Rich Asians,” among other books including “China Rich Girlfriend” and “Rich People Problems.”
Many believe Heart’s friendship with Kevin makes future collaborations a certainty.
Heart was quick to downplay the matter, saying simply, “I don’t want to speculate.” (NEIL RAMOS)
