Action resumes in NCAA volleyball today when two schools battle in three divisions at The Arena in San Juan City.
The junior squads of San Sebastian and Lyceum raise the curtain at 8:30 a.m. followed by their men’s counterparts at 10 a.m. and their women’s teams at 12 noon.
Emilio Aguinaldo College and Letran face off with their women’s teams tangling at 2 p.m., their men’s squads at 3:30 p.m. and their junior crews at 5 p.m.
Focus will be on the San Sebastian Lady Stags as they aim to join the Arellano Lady Chiefs and the San Beda Lady Red Spikers into the winning column to start their title campaign on the right note.
Last season, the Lady Stags fell short of advancing to the Final Four after finishing fifth with five wins and four losses.
Without last year’s Best Setter Vira Guillema and Best Libero Alyssa Eroa, the Lady Stags will had to dig deep into their bag of tricks with Joyce Sta. Rita leading their charge.
Also out to eclipse their last season’s performance was the Lyceum Lady Pirates, who finished ninth place out of 10 teams with a single win against eight defeats. (Kristel Satumbaga)
