The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will continue to be the dominant weather system over the country Thursday, particularly affecting the Northern and Central Luzon.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, Mountain Province, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
The low pressure area which was formerly tropical cyclone “Tomas” was not expected to affect any part of the country. As of Wednesday, PAGASA estimated the location of the LPA at 1,335 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes.
PAGASA has not issued a gale warning but it advised sea vessels of moderate to rough seas over the coastlines of Northern Luzon and eastern section of Luzon due to moderate to strong winds.
Only slight to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of the country. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
