Defending champion Arellano and San Beda try to pull away from the rest of the field when they clash with separate foes today in NCAA women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.
Both the Lady Chiefs and the Lady Red Spikers gun for their third straight wins to cement their hold of the top spot.
San Beda’s strength will be put to test once again in its 12 noon confrontation with Lyceum while Arellano collides with winless Mapua at 2 p.m.
Fresh from a straight-set triumph over Mapua, San Beda seeks to use that momentum to bolster their title bid as well as Arellano, which is coming off a tough five-set victory over College of St. Benilde last week.
Lyceum, however, is in high spirits to make it hard for San Beda as it searches for a follow-up from its four-set win over Jose Rizal University. (Kristel Satumbaga)
