Close to 200 players from all over step up their drive for top honors and ranking points in the PPS-PEPP Mandaue national age group tennis tournament which starts Thursday at the Mandaue Sports Center in Mandaue City, Cebu.
Cebuanas Bless Coderos and Ashley McKenzie banner the girls’ 16- and 18-and-under cast while Cedrix Bravo from Ormoc shoots for podium finishes and ranking points in the boys’ top two divisions in the second-to-last tournament capping another banner season put up by the country’s leading remittance center and presented by Dunlop.
Meanwhile, coach Patricia Puzon will conduct the three-day Mac’s Crankit Foundation Global Coaches and Training Conference starting today (Wednesday) in San Carlos City.
The seminar comes on the heels of another successful nationwide program put up by the PPS-PEPP in cooperation with the Mac’s Crankit Tennis Academy of Australia aimed at providing a high quality experience to every coaches and athletes alike.

Others tipped to contend for this week’s crown in the event sanctioned by the Unified Tennis Philippines are Hans Cabellon, also from Cebu, in the boys’ 16-U, Ormoc’s Corazon Lambonao and Mia Gemida in the girls’ 12-U, Gerald Gemida, Gio Manito, Mitch Largo and Chad Cuizon in the boys’ 12- and 14-U sides, and Dumaguete’s Shara Paliwag and Juvels Velos in the 10-unisex category.
