POLICE seized about P2.4 million worth of shabu from three alleged drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 120, Caloocan City, before dawn Thursday.
Arrested were Belen Piñero, alias “Mommy,” 39; Mary Josephine Esguerra, 18, student; and Rodney Esguerra, 19, merchandiser; all residents of Malhacan, Meycauayan City, Bulacan.
Police said the suspects are newly identified drug personalities and not included in the drug watchlist.
Elements of the Caloocan City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (CCPS-SDEU) conducted the sting at a gasoline station on Rizal Avenue at about 4:20 a.m.
Investigation showed that the three were arrested after a poseur-buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu worth P50,000 from the suspects.
Police recovered five sachets of suspected shabu from Piñero and a plastic bag full of suspected shabu from Mary Josephine.
The seized pieces of evidence were brought to the CCPS-SDEU for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, the suspects were detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Minka Tiangco)
