University of Perpetual Help guns for an outright finals berth when it battles Jose Rizal University (JRU) today in NCAA men’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.
Match is at 10 a.m. with the Altas seeking a nine-game sweep of the eliminations to bolster their bid of retaining their title.
Perpetual, which is gunning its seventh crown in nine years, dominated its rivals, dropping only one set in its first eight games.
Though heavily favored to win, veteran coach Sammy Acaylar cautioned his players against falling into a fall sense of complacency, adding the Bombers have nothing to lose as they are already out of semis picture.
Last year’s Rookie-Most Valuable Player Joebert Almodiel banners Perpetual’s frontliners while Ronniel Rosales and Aljoe Sereno provide reinforcements.
Meanwhile, the Perpetual Lady Altas and the JRU Lady Bombers square off at 12 noon for the remaining semis ticket in women’s division.
