Satisfaction rating for the Senate of the Philippines increased to “very good” in the last quarter of 2018, while the House of Representatives, the Supreme Court, and the Cabinet stays at “good,” the latest Social Weather Stations survey showed.
In the survey result released on Friday, the SWS found out that the Senate was the only government institution that received “very good” net satisfaction ratings.
The survey fielded on Dec. 16 to 19 last year showed that 71 percent of Filipinos said they are satisfied with the performance of the Senate while only 13 percent are dissatisfied.
This resulted to a one grade higher net satisfaction rating (percent satisfied minus percent dissatisfied) of the Senate and a 10-point increase to “very good” +58 from “good” +48 in September 2018.
This is the highest satisfaction score received by the Senate since the “very good” +67 in August 2012.
The SWS attributed the 10-point rise in the overall net satisfaction with the Senate due to increases in all areas, especially in Metro Manila where it significantly increase by 23 points from +34 in September 2018 to +57 in December.
It also rose from good to very good in the Visayas, up by 13 points from +48 in September to +61 in December. It stayed very good in Mindanao, up by 9 points from +51 in September to +60 in December, as well as in Balance Luzon with a 6-point increase from +50 to +56.

It increased by four points from +36 satisfaction score in September to +40 in December, the highest since the good +42 in June 2016.
Based on the result, the four-point rise in the overall net satisfaction rating of the Congress was due to increases in Metro Manila and the Visayas, combined with steady scores in Mindanao and Balance Luzon.
The net satisfaction rating of the House rose by one grade from “moderate” to good in Metro Manila, up by 17 points from +19 in September to +36 in December.
It remained good in the Visayas (+34 in September to +41 in December), in Mindanao (+41 in September to +42 in December), and in Balance Luzon (+39 in September to +40 in December).
The Supreme Court’s net satisfaction rating also stayed good at +37, up by six points from +31 in December. This was the result of the 54 percent of Filipinos who said they are satisfied and the 17 percent who are dissatisfied with the performance of the SC in the fourth quarter of 2018.
The High Court’s latest satisfaction score is similar to the good it received in December 2017. The six-point improvement in the overall net satisfaction rating of the Supreme Court was due to increases in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, and the Visayas, combined with a slight decline in Mindanao.
Its satisfaction rating rose from moderate to good in Metro Manila, up by 13 points from +22 in September to +35 in December.
It stayed good in Balance Luzon and in Visayas, up by seven points from +31 in September to +38 in December, and by six points from +41 to +47, respectively.

The same survey noted that more than half of Filipinos or 52 percent said they are satisfied with the performance of the Cabinet as a whole while 17 percent said they are dissatisfied.
This resulted to the Cabinet’s net satisfaction rating of good at +35, up by three points also from good +32 in September.
