President Duterte has named retired military man Felicisimo Budiongan as new undersecretary at the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Based on official appointment papers, Duterte appointed Budiongan to the post last Jan. 23.
Budiongan was former assistant division commander of the Mechanized Infantry Division of the Philippine Army. He served as assistant division commander from November 2016 to August 2018.
He is now one of the retired military men that the President appointed in government. He will be working under DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista, a former Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff.
Duterte prefers to appoint retired military officers to the government because they get things done right and quick.
Among other military officers that the President has appointed are AFP chiefs of staff Eduardo Año as Interior and Local Government Secretary and Rey Guerrero as Customs Commissioner. (Argyll Geducos)
