The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will be the dominant weather system throughout the country during the remainder of the month.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said it does not expect the formation of a low pressure area or tropical cyclone within the next three to five days.
Sunday until Tuesday, the tail-end of cold front will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao region, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.
PAGASA warned residents in these areas of possible flooding or landslides due to light to moderate with occasional heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol, Biliran, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, and Samar.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan.
The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Weather forecasters also advised residents to be alert against possible flash floods during severe thunderstorms.
By Wednesday until Friday, PAGASA said the diffused tail-end of cold front will affect eastern part of Mindanao while another tail-end of cold front will be approaching extreme Northern Luzon. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
