After eight days of intense battle between local and foreign bets, the champion of 2019 World Slasher Cup 9-Cock Invitational Derby will finally be known today at the iconic Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Among the frontrunners are Elmer Stokwa of Guam, Jomel Gatlabayan and RGBA Friends, Team Alcala, A. Bernos of Abra and CPB and Cris – all with similar 5-0 records in the event sponsored by Thunderbird, Emperador, Powertrac, Pitgames Media Inc. and Sabong Pilipinas.
“My fearless forecast is that anyone who scores four points in the finals will emerge champion,” said Pitgames CEO Manny Berbano said the event being hosted by the ever-popular Pintakasi of Champions.
Powertrac will be raffling off another 32-inch TV in today’s final round where regular WSC campaigners Belle Almojera of Florida and Santi Sierra of Cebu are also still in the running with 4.5 points each.
Other contenders are Nene Araneta, Biboy Enriquez, Raymond Relayo/Lito Cay, defending champion Patrick Antonio, Nathan Jumper/Celso Evangelista of Missisipi, Cris de Jesus, Macky Macaraig, Ronnel Pasia of Team Sagupaan, Doc Rey Tambong, Raffy Zaide, Choi Ampil, Celso Salazar (Pasay March 1), Beng Joson, C. Violago, Bagay Brothers, Rey Briones, Jimmy Junsay, Itoy Sison, Marvin Rillo, C. Bautista, Eman Fiscalizer, GPE group, Nestor Vendivil, Carlos Camacho and Jorge Goitia of California, Ricky Magtuto, Pros Antonio, Jun Bacolod and Butch Cambra of Hawaii.
The 2019 WSC will have its second offering on May 27 to June 2.
