The most wanted man in Quezon City for the crime of murder was arrested by policemen in Baybay City, Leyte past midnight on Thursday after seven years of hiding.
Chief Supt. Benigno Meneses, Eastern Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief, identified the suspect as Edgardo Flores, 53, of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Baybay City, Leyte.
The Eastern District Field Unit of the EPD-CIDG arrested Flores in a house where he was staying in Purok 1, Barangay Sta. Cruz at around 12:05 a.m.
Flores was arrested through a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Luisito Cortez of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 84 on Dec. 22, 2014.
The suspect was charged for the death of Ariel Bermudez at around 10 p.m. in Sitio Maligaya in Barangay Bahay Toro, Quezon City on May 11, 2012.
The 29-year-old Bermudez, who only tried to pacify the altercation between the son of Flores and an unidentified man, died on the spot after the suspect suddenly appeared and stabbed the victim on his back.
