The low pressure area which was formerly tropical depression “Betty” (international name “Wutip”) continues to further weaken and remains to have no direct effect over any part of the Philippines.
Around noon yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration estimated the location of the LPA at 1,320 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan.
Should it maintain its current movement, the LPA will be likely outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility within 24 to 48 hours.
The northeast monsoon or “amihan” remains the prevailing weather system across Luzon and Visayas.
Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
The public is advised to be alert against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, and Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies.
PAGASA does not expect the formation of a low pressure area or tropical cyclone that may affect the country throughout this week. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
