Far Eastern University (FEU) goes for a sweep of the first-round eliminations when it squares off with La Salle today in NCAA men’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.
Game is at 10 a.m. with the Tamaraws excited to dish out the form that enabled to win their first six games – the latest was a 25-14, 25-23, 25-23 win over Adamson last Sunday.
One reason why the Tamaraws are on a roll is due to the explosive duo of Jude Garcia and John Paul Bugaoan.
Their inspiring performance emanate from the creative plays of setter Owen Suarez that saw the Tamaraws drop only five sets in six matches so far.
But La Salle is upbeat on improving its 2-4 card near the bottom following a 25-14, 25-10, 23-25, 22-25, 15-13 triumph over University of the East last week.
The Green Spikers, however, must maintain their composure in end game and provide rock-solid net defense anchored on Kieffer Reyes and John David Delos Reyes to stop the Tamaraws’ attackers.
Meanwhile, defending champion National University (5-1) collides with Ateneo (4-2) in the 8 a.m. opener in its bid to end the first round on a high note.
