With the growing popularity of 3×3 basketball in the country, RC Cola has launched its own tournament in the hope of discovering new talents.
Open to high school students aged 12-16 years, the event dubbed as “RC Cola Liga ng Bayan” will be held in select barangays throughout Luzon.
Unlike other 3×3 basketball tournaments, it aims to build a community of sports-minded youths who are passionate about basketball, for them to develop sportsmanship and leadership skills while bringing them closer to their ultimate dream of becoming the country’s next Lebron James.
RC Cola is also introducing a workshop component to help chosen participants further hone their skills and better appreciate the value of the sport.
The first leg of RC Cola’s 3×3 basketball competitions kicked off last March 23 at the Carangalan Covered court in Dagupan City.
This will be followed by a separate round of eliminations that will soon take place in Tarlac, Nueva Ecija and Pampanga as well as in Bulacan (April 13 to 14) for the Northern Luzon leg.
The Southern Luzon leg, meanwhile, will kick off in Laguna (April 27 to 28) and Batangas (May 4 to 5) while the NCR leg will be played in Cavite/Las Pinas (May 18), Caloocan/Manila (May 19) and Makati/Mandaluyong and San Juan (May 18 to 19).
Winning teams will automatically represent their respective city/province in the national finals to be held at Market! Market! in Taguig City on May 26.
