UP skidded to 6-7 at fifth to put its semifinal bid in peril while NU, which was already eliminated from the race, fell to 3-9.
In men’s play, Ateneo and Adamson bested their foes to complete the semifinal cast.
The Eagles downed the University of Santo Tomas Tigers, 25-22, 25-17, 25-19, while the Falcons edged the University of the East Warriors, 27-25, 25-17, 25-15.
