Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio’s much awaited return to the ONE Championship Circle takes place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium when he faces Kim Kyu Sung at ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON on May 17.
Eustaquio’s return bout comes nearly four months after he lost his World Title to longtime rival Adriano ‘Mikinho’ Moraes in ONE: HERO’S ASCENT last January.
Expect no less than his best as he looks to scale the flyweight division all over again.
“I can’t wait to bounce back and start over again, rest assured, you’ll see the best version of me in Singapore,” Eustaquio said.
For Eustaquio, he will be coming in with a ‘do or die’ mentality, knowing fully well that he needs a convincing win to get back in the fold.
It’s certainly a new beginning for “Gravity” and he vows not to waste this opportunity.
“I wish to get back in the winning column and pave a new path to World Title contention,” said Eustaquio.
“I’m into a new era now which simply means it’s all or nothing.”
However, Eustaquio knows that he has his hands full against Sung who is looking to impress the mixed martial arts world in his ONE Championship debut.
Sung holds an impressive record of nine wins and only two losses with seven stoppages in his disposal, making him a tough return bout for Eustaquio
In his last outing the Jeonju, South Korea native scored a knockout win over Masayuki “Nave” Watanabe of Japan in the second round of their scheduled three-round flyweight match.
That is why Eustaquio is not leaving any stones unturned entering this contest.
“We don’t know much about our upcoming opponent as he’ll be making his debut but we know that he’s tall and lanky. So we’ll have to prepare for that,” said Eustaquio
“The most important thing is to not leave it to the judges’ hands this time so expect me to go all out.”
