A training aircraft crash landed in Comillas, Tarlac yesterday, but the pilot and his student survived, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of The Philippines (CAAP).
CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said the the A C172 type aircraft of Alpha Aviation with registry number RP-C3567 was on its way back to Clark International Airport when it developed engine trouble.
Capt. Irineo Manguba, the pilot, radioed the control tower and requested emergency landing, but the plane did not arrive.
It turned out that the plane crashed in Tarlac. The report did not say where and how the two passengers were found.
Manguba was able to contact the Philippine Air Force A3 and informed the pilot that he and Jeny Jerome, an Indian national, were being brought to the nearest hospital.
The plane left the airport at 7:29 a.m. and the control tower received the distress call at 9:44 a.m.
