F2 Logistics opened its title bid on a bright note on with a 25-12, 25-21, 25-17 drubbing of Generika-Ayala in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference Saturday at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Cargo Movers, finalists to the Petron Blaze Spikers last year, banked on their cohesion with former and current La Salle players delivering the goodsin the 60-minute match with their all-around plays.
Skipper Aby Maraño spearheaded F2 Logistics’ charge with 15 points built on nine kills, five blocks and one ace while Ara Galang also stepped up in the offensive lane by firing nine of her 11 points on attacks.
F2 Logistics coach Ramil De Jesus said it was still early to gauge the strength of Generika-Ayala at the start of the conference while adding that it was easy for his stalwarts to familiarize in his system.
“Ang maganda sa side namin, may ‘La Salle connection’, yun yung naging advantage,” said de Jesus, a long-time coach of the school in the UAAP.
The Cargo Movers overpowered the Lifesavers in all departments by posting more spikes, 39-30, more blocks, 11-0, and more aces, 5-1.
Desiree Cheng and Majoy Baron also shone for F2 Logistics with eight points apiece while Michelle Cobb provided 14 of the team’s 16 excellent sets.
Generika-Ayala, which finished third last year, stumbled in its plays with Fiola Ceballos becoming the lone double-digit scorer with 10 points.
