Derek Ramsay might’ve thought it cute posting a line about loving oneself as taken from his hit movie “One More Chance,” but it ultimately backfired with some fans berating him for being too narcissistic for his own good.
“Don’t ever think it was a mistake to find yourself – that you chose to love yourself a little bit more,” went the quote as originally delivered by his character in the 2007 film, Mark.
Apparently, many connected this to his recent breakup with model Joanne Villablanca.
One said the quote is the “main excuse of a guy who wants out because he’s eyeing new prey.”
“You always self-lovin’,” another follower commented. “That’s why you never had a successful relationship and never ever became a family man too. How can a woman choose to marry a narcissistic like you! Always lookin’ for the next victim… Poor women!”
This didn’t sit well with the actor who was quick to retort, “Wow you really know me dear don’t you. You shouldn’t really say anything about nothing you know about. Just saying.”
With some fans coming to the defense of Ramsay, the netizen went on to point out, “He is the problem. He can’t commit because he only loves himself.”
Trying to stay cool, Ramsay urged the detractor to simply unfollow him “so that all this negativity can stop.”
He added, “I’d respect your opinion if you knew how to express it. But with that said, Jo and I didn’t work. That doesn’t make me or her a bad person.”
