De La Salle University-Lipa City and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta-Las Piñas City stamped their class to rule the girls and boys titles in the recent Imus Volleyball League Inter-Secondary Invitational Tournament held at the City of Imus Sports Complex.
Led by Jacquelin Margaret Lipat, the DLSU Junior Spikers beat the University of Santo Tomas Junior Tigresses for the title in the 9-team tournament which was part of the priority projects of Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi, Vice Mayor Arnel “Ony” M. Cantimbuhan, and Rep. Alex “AA” Advincula in cooperation with La Filipina Uygongco Group of Companies and Flex office.
The UPHSD Junior Altas, on the other hand, needed four sets to down DLSU-Zobel – big thanks to Dominique T. Gabito who dazzled with his thunder-like spikes.
Nine teams also took part in the boys division where trophies and medal were awarded by Imus Sports Development Unit officials led by Joel Legaspi, Joey San Juan and Hert Tito Monzon.
Lipat and Gabito were named MVP winners in the annual tournament held as part of Imus summer sports programs.
Meantime, Hyundai won over Golden Arm in the 21-Under women’s tournament while L.A. Elites won over Golden in the men’s side.
Ashly Jazmin Aquino of Golden Arm and Marc Kenneth Paulino of L.A. Elites emerged as MVPs of the U-19 event.
Others teams that took part in the girls side were Immaculate Concepcion Academy-Dasma, Imus Institute of Science and Technology, Imus, Josiah Christian Values High School, Imus Unida Christian School, St. Edward School, St. Francis Academy, and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta-Molino.
